Music is a very big part of my everyday life. I love to listen to countless different genres of music, and discovering new songs/genres is very exciting to me. The reason I like music so much is because of the always-adapting techniques used to create and spread new content. The numerous new music-based websites allow fresh, interesting ideas and musical samples to become known! The techniques used in musical tracks usually have an emotional impact that allows messages to be sent, even without purposely sending them. I personally like rap music, rock, funk, country, future funk, and smooth jazz. An interesting sub-genre that I enjoy is derived from the electronic genre, it is called vaporwave. Rap and vaporwave are my two favorite genres. My favorite rapper is Kendrick Lamar, he creatively challenges modern ideas of music and is an incredible lyricist. I will leave a vaporwave song for you to listen to, enjoy.
I am very proud of many aspects of my culture. I feel that being an American means I am at the center of boundless entertainment. The thing about American culture is, it's a bunch of other cultures all bundled and overlapping into one. In my opinion, our entertainment options are all inspired by other cultures, especially movies. Even the music I listen to is evidently inspired by works from Japan, Great Britain, and many other places. Our food comes from all over the place as well. Heck, I can go into restaurants near me that serve burgers and Chinese food in the same place! Our culture is interesting for sure, I am proud of how diverse it truly is. There really is a place for everyone to find something they enjoy in America.
One thing I would change about my culture is the lack of compassion we share toward one another. I feel as if in our culture, it isn't common to be friendly to anyone. Most of the people I am near never let their guard down, they don't trust each other like I have seen in other cultures. Another characteristic that I see in my culture a lot is entitlement. Most feel that certain things should be theirs simply because they are American. I don't agree with this, and it bothers me tremendously. I believe we should really work hard to get the things we want, that used to be the American dream.
I live in a small town with my parents and younger sister. I love playing basketball, I hope I get the opportunity to play in college. I really like music, I love finding records that nobody else has really heard of. I enjoy making music too, I have a small "side business" where I sell music for people to sing over. I enjoy watching The Joy of Painting with Bob Ross, and making my own art is something I do from time to time. I like playing video games very much, the Metal Gear Solid series is one of my favorite of all time. I love to hunt, my dad and I duck hunt and fish on a regular basis. I really enjoy watching movies too, horror is my favorite genre... Halloween is a great cult classic to check out.
Hopefully you learned a little bit about me.
P.S I've included a song that I'm really into right now, give it a listen.
